The most common barrier to a real food diet is the price tag.

There are no coupon games to be played here and sale prices for organic foods often hover above the regular price of non-organic items.

For the thrifty shopper, this is a huge demotivator.

But don’t let it get you down. The choices you make each week at the grocery will directly impact your health and save you money in the long run. It will be worth it – I guarantee.

There are many posts out there for how to eat healthy while on a budget. Many emphasize menu planning (a good thing!) and avoiding processed foods, even organic ones (a great thing!).  

A great majority behold the bean, as I like to say. But I’ll be honest with you, I get bored with beans. And lentils. We don’t do lots of starchy carbohydrates like rice or potatoes, either.

So what’s a mom to do?
